In 2006 when raising the Debt Limit came up as an issue for the Bush Administration, Senator Barack Obama said the following on the floor of the Senate ; "Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”
After which, Senator Obama proceeded to vote "NO" on raising the Debt Limit ..
We applaud Senator Obama's courage of conviction and resolve in holding the line with his NO vote and we call on each and every House Representative to join with Senator Obama's bi-partisan effort to stop the insane spending.
Every Representative should take his or her turn on the floor of the House to declare "in our bi-partisan effort to reign in spending I join with the effort displayed by President Obama on the subject of raising the Debt Ceiling in 2006 and I wholeheartedly agree with his "NO"vote on raising the Debt Limit.
